Branch Office / Ramechhap Youth Peace Center (RYPC)
Building on the success of DYVP and Peace Ambassador Mobilization Program, NA established a Branch Office/Peace Center at Ramechhap, a rural village in central Nepal, which was led and run by graduates of DYVP and supervised by NA's Peace Ambassador. The branch office at Ramechhap is closed after successful test completion and peace ambassadors have taken more challenging work.
Objectives
Provide psychological Para counseling services to youths and displaced families,
Provide a learning space (trainings and interactive forums) and a resource center, and
Engage graduates displaced youths in long term peace building efforts.
Conduct community awareness and social mobilization Programme (street drama, etc).
In these times Ramechhap youth peace center is focusing its activities on:
Three DYVP graduates ran the center successfully from 2007-2008 at daily basis replicating the work of NA
Supervising and monitoring of the entire activities done by Peace ambassadors.
Situation analysis through field visit (4 field visit completed in rural areas of Ramechhap)
Psychological counseling and referral support
Interaction and sharing programme with different stakeholders (6 programme completed)
Data collection of IDPs
Data collection on incidents of Human rights violation data collection
Outcome so far
Those youths are working as a peace builders in 4 districts under Women and Youth as Pillars of Sustainable Peace.
