Women and Youths as pillars of Sustainable Peace Programme (WYPSP)
Nagarik Aawaz has been implementing Women and Youth as Pillars of Sustainable Peace (WYPSP) since January 2008 in four districts viz. Dhading, Gorkha, Rupandehi and Kapilvastu.
WYPSP is a five year program funded by European Commission and CARE International UK and the national level partners of the program are Nagarik Aawaz, Shanti Malika and CARE Nepal. WYPSP is implemented through district partners FOCUS Nepal (Dhading), Himalaya Area Development Center (Gorkha) and Namuna Integrated Development Council (Rupandehi and Kapilbastu). The program focuses on capacitating the community level mechanisms for constructive transformation of conflict and policy advocacy for sustainable peace.
The overall objective of the program is to develop capacity of civil society networks to engage poor, vulnerable and socially excluded (PVSE) groups of women and youth in the process of influencing a democratic constitution in Nepal, leading towards sustainable peace and the achievement of their aspirations.

Outcomes so far
Two days sharing an orientation workshop was conducted in May 2008
Four Peace ambassadors have been recruited and placed in four district.
Four Peace centers have been established in all four districts.
Start up workshop has been conducted in each districts.
