With the financial support from Oxfam GB Nepal and in partnership with Communication Corner – Ujyalo Network, Nagarik Aawaz (NA) implemented "Theater for Peace (TFP)" in three districts Dhanusha, Doti and Sukhet. In the program theater troops of conflict affected youth presented the street theater in the theme of "Role of youth in peace building". Over 4550 community members directly observed the program. The program was also broadcasted in 41 districts through local FM radio which benefited thousands of people. The program was successful in mobilizing conflict affected youth in raising awareness on Constituent Assembly and peace building.
Under the innovative program, NA mobilized conflict affected youths in conducting "Theater for Peace (TFP)". Prior to the program these youths were trained in the theatrical skills in Aarohan Gurukul. Youth theatre troop visited three districts, Doti, Surkhet, and Janakpur to present the TFP. In each of these districts the TFP was presented in 3 different locations to capture a diverse audience and to ensure access for a wider category of audience. The performance and the local responses were captured on community radio for broadcasting.
